We, as an Association and as Veterans, must never forget that others have served after us and are serving our Nation still.  The Parade was followed by a Service and the Dedication of the Memorial Stained Glass Window. Reverend Howard Dillon, a Vietnam Veteran, presided over the service. Rev Dillon prayed for those who are suffering as the result of war, and for the protection of those still serving in the ADF today, especially those from 1 Fd Hospital. Rev Dillon then proceeded to dedicate the Memorial Window in honour of the men and women who served with 1st Australian Field Hospital in South Vietnam. A wreath was then laid at the base of the hospital’s flagpole, in remembrance of those who have died in the service of our country.  After the service it was time to relax, have a BBQ Lunch and inspect some of the fine facilities of the hospital, including the Mobile Componentry. The Association had also organised for the Vietnam Veterans of Australia Association  Mobile Museum to be on display, which was of interest to family members and the younger members of the Unit. Members of the Unit made themselves available to answer questions and escort us around the various components of the unit, and in turn the Veterans answered questions for the current-serving members. A great afternoon was had by all and the food wasn’t bad either!
