Article from the post reunion edition of 'Call Sign Vampire', the Association's official newsletter. An inside look at the the reunion through the eyes of Denise! A weird and wonderful place, but please remember it was over 3 months ago now so I deny any responsibilty for the accuracy of the reporting on the events as they unfolded! |

The room was deadly quiet, not a sound could be heard, except maybe for my own heartbeat. Feeling somewhat emotionally bewildered and struggling to retain my composure I slowly scanned the room and was |

“Round ‘em up, get ‘em on out, get those doggies movin’ …. Rawhide” Pin point precision was required on this day, an “extra special top secret reunion event” had been convened and organised by Don Chapman & Rob Atkinson and “timing was everything!” What I didn’t need was Julian Stanton telling me how they (the Stanton’s & the Wittner’s) were running late and would drive themselves to Keswick Barracks. |

By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea...... After a hectic Registration period in the afternoon it was marvellous to enjoy a wonderfully relaxed evening in such fantastic surrounds. The night’s festivities began with a few pre-dinner drinks in the foyer accompanied to the tinkling sound of the piano, played by our multi-talented Patron, David Rossi. |

ED: Please note all disparaging remarks (by the author) comparing the weather over the Vampire 2000 weekend on the ‘SUNSHINE’ Coast to Melbourne’s weather pattern have been severely edited (as in "deleted"). I’d like to take this opportunity to remind the author that that whilst sitting on a balcony, enjoying lunch in the beautiful Melb sunshine on the 17th July 2000, he raised a sweat and actually had to strip off layers of clothing because he was too hot! Excuse me!!! |

I have only been home four days from my first Vampire reunion and I thought I had better check my emails. On checking, I found one from Vampire dated 16/7/2000, so as I’m opening it I’m thinking what is it I have left behind......but no! no! no! It’s from Denise (she who must be obeyed) asking if I could please write an article about my experiences at Vampire 2000? |

We were off to see the Wild West Show, the animals and the Kangaroos….. Oh, O.K. then, be pedantic!! We were 'really' off to Gympie and Imbil, but why let small details get in the way of a good story! It was Monday, June 12, and at some god forsaken hour of the morning (9.30am) we were loaded, like cattle, onto two and a half buses and we headed to Gympie for our jaunt on the Mary Valley Heritage Railway Steam Train. |

The champion Novotel Twin Waters Golf Course is rated number seven amongst resort courses in Australia and was indeed a suitable venue on which to hold our President’s Cup tournament. The players had to contend with three separate handicaps to play this in prestigious event. |
