LOST & FOUND
THE SEARCH
The search for ex-personnel of 1st Australian Field Hospital began in earnest
after the Reunion in Melbourne, March 1996. After this Reunion we had a financial base of just 18 people, and a mailing list of
approx. 150 people. Fortunately for us, not long after the Reunion, the Department of Veteran Affairs released the Nominal Roll of
Vietnam Veterans - so off we ran to the Government Book Shop to purchase the
computer version of the Roll.

Military - Membership to the 1st (Aust) Field Hospital Association is
available to ‘ALL’ personnel, past and present, that have served with the unit
and attached units over the years since 1968 and is NOT restricted to Vietnam
Vets only.
This is important for two
reasons: -
- It is important that the members of our Defence
Forces know that they have the support of others who have served before
them, and
- To ensure the “LEGEND OF THE VAMPIRE” lives on!
Membership is open to
people on the periphery of the unit. For example:-

Patron: MAJGEN David G. Rossi AO Ret'd BACKGROUND
In March 1996, the 1st
Australian Field Hospital Association finally got off the ground. Several
attempts had been made previously but the time was, now, obviously right and
the ex-members of the unit were ready to “Come Home”.
