Went to the re-union at Karrakatta and saw a lot of old mates, unfortunatly was due to fly tp Bali early the day after. Sorry I didn't spend more time there to talk to certain old mate such as Lester, Leon and his Mrs etc. Nice to see an entry from Ray Schmidt in the guest book. Thankyou all for giving me the oppurtunity to be able to have different insight into my father's service through the stories of some told........ it's never too late. I have shown him the site and I think he's ready, The look on his face when I said 'Callsign Vampire' and told him this was here said it all, but his quiet words spoken while showing me and searching for familiar faces and names was something i thought i'd never get a chance to hear or experience. Thankyou all again and I look forward to hopefully seeing my dad at a reunion in the near future. I was actually at 8 Fd Amb. Nui Dat as a Med Assist from Nov '70 to Oct '71 and saw a bit of "Vampire" as HVO from the Dat and when on leave and visiting Vung Tau. Also talked to you on the radio and 'phone quite a bit!I am very keen to get in touch with any of the chaps who did time at the Dat. Just back from Perth 07 Reunion. Great time was had by all, Pity that many ex members missed the opportunity to meet with old freinds from Vietnam. Perth Organisers did us proud, great job. Tassie has a big task ahead in 2009. Start your planning to be there now.

Vietnam 1971-72
Well done Kirk, a great web site, makes you proud to belong to the Vampire Association. Wondering if any ex-vets or family members are interested in accompanying Greg Swincer (1969-71)and me back to Vietnam in August 2008, we are going via Malaya-Borneo on the way there and intend to visit those battelfields. Let us know as we are currently putting our trip together. See you at the Reunion.

Hi All, have a great time in Perth. Sorry for the delay in getting the site back into shape, the arrival of my kids and my business eat up more hours of the day than I have (not that I'm complaining! I'm having fun!). There have been others to give credit to for their work on the site who work for me, they are Brad and Graeme.
