Hello From percy
G'day all from the HSB. I was just emailed the link to this site and its great to see some of the old faces from my time there. Well as you can guess I have discharged and its been 4yrs already and I am getting very very itchy feet to get back in. If I could get back in and get posted back to 1 HSB I think I would come back in. Yeh the money and that is all good out here, but the family & fun I left behind in the HSB..."Priceless.. Well I look forward to hearing from anyone. Stay safe Percy..

WO2
Great to see a well compiled website dedicated to a RAAMC unit such as 1 Fd Hosp.Other Aust Army units should do the same. I served with 1 Fd Hosp from 1988 until 1991 and was able to see the merger between 1 Military Hosp and 1 Fd Hosp out at Ingleburn in Western Sydney. Had soo many great times whilst posted there and made many great friends.Im still serving in the Corps but have not been back to Sydney or 1 Fd since then. Would be good to here from some of you if you remember me from back then.

i recently joined the association and was given some of the newsletters they were from 2004/2005 just wondering has there been any since? iwas a member of 1 fldhospital from 73/76 and again in the late 80,s when 2nd military hospital joined with 1 fld hosp.also am wondering on anzac day in adelaide can a member of the field hosp association march with the field hosp or is it mainly for the vietnam veterans i have tried to contact the 2 representative here in adelaide but no reply at this stage.i just want to do the right thing by the association.the names in some of the newleters the names ring a bell espciallay theo dechaffapuie (sorry about the spelling ) after a couple of drinks on my bucks night i was put in his car which had whitE upholstery, i had a tyre wrapped around me and left on one of the roads around liverpool but they did come back to get me but i had moved up a few meteres and they could not find me it was a good night and still married to the same lady i married in 1975

Ex 1 RAR
Just found your site, well put together.
I was one of the 784 malaria cases, 12th Oct to 24th Oct 1968, I think, I was a bit hazy when I came in on the chopper.
I have always wanted to know a bit more about the Malaria epedemic. I think mine stemmed from Operation Hawkesbury in September.

Hello all
I was posted to 1 Field Hospital from 1981 until I was posted in 1983/4. My teenage years were spent there with many great people, some now deceased.I quite clearly remember our victorious cricket team we had with many stars that went on in civilian life. I would love to catch up with former mates or soldiers that were posted to 1fd whilst I was there. They were the best years of my life. I now currently work for Qhealth and am the business manager of a music company. I can be contacted at
djrockdoctor@australiaonline.net.au. It is always good to remember the golden years regardless of what era you come from.
